Career Services REAL Gainful Employment

This one day workshop focuses on building and managing an engaging modern career services department with-in your school. You’ll learn how to offer comprehensive career services regardless of whether your career services department is staffed full- or part-time.

Class Description:

In this eight-hour class, we will discuss the Accreditation Standards that pertain to job placement and career services and how to comply with the standards in your school.  We will show you what ACCREDITATION teams look for during a site visit, or when your accreditor asks for backup documentation for your annual report.  Also, we will show you how to set-up a vibrant Career Services Department in your school that infuses job placement activities throughout your curriculum and helps keep your students engaged and focused on the finish line.  We will end the day with a panel discussion with national & local employment leaders that will share why their company would be a great FIRST job in the beauty industry.

Each attendee will receive a certificate of completion.

Strategies

  • How to set-up a Vibrant Career Services Department in your school
  • How to infuse placement opportunities through out your program to keep students engaged and focused on the finish line.
  • Assessments that will help you guide the graduate to their Best First Job in the Industry.
  • Techniques to help you track outcomes and increase placement rates.
  • Free Career Services Resource Tools

In this course, you will be given tools to help your students find the job that’s right for them, present themselves impressively on paper, and interview with ease. This course is designed so you can successfully support your students in four phases of their job search: doing a targeted job search, writing a powerful resume and cover letter, presenting professionally, and developing effective interview skills.

Because employment outcomes are as much a function of institutional behaviors as they are of student behaviors, this course is based in systems thinking, which challenges participants to examine the interdependent relationship among institutional infrastructure, student career-readiness, and graduate employment rates.
