Dr. Abu Shaharier

I received this news this morning and I think Tom Netting puts it well, so I will pass this on.   Dr, Abu was a good man, always in a good humor, and a great guy to spend a little time with when work was done and fun time began.    I too will toast one in his memory and prayer offered to all his family..

In Memory of Dr. Abu Shaharier

Throughout our time working within this wonderful community Jeri and I have had the good fortune to get to know so, so many phenomenal individuals, and one of the most genuine, caring, and devoted members of our “family” was Dr. Abu Shaharier. Which it is why it is so hard to try and write this email attempting to say good-bye to Dr. Abu who tragically lost his life Saturday evening in Arizona. A true Renaissance Man – Dr Abu’s passions included not only the development of renowned operating systems and customized software, but also teaching, painting, and philanthropic efforts to help individuals half a world away in Bangladesh. Many of you may not have been as familiar or aware of all of these endeavors, but to us it shows the deep commitment the Abu always had to give of himself to others. At this time our thoughts and prayers turn to Barbara and support for his family. CSPEN offers all of them our most heartfelt condolences and will be looking at ways in which we can show our respects prior to and during services to be held this Tuesday, December 4, 2018. I also know that I personally will be raising a shot glass of “Mother’s milk” (also known as Jaegermeister) in his honor Tuesday and at future conferences, meetings, and events where we will miss uplifting his smile, his wisdom, and his quiet caring way! Dr Abu, you will be remembered, you will be missed, but you will not be forgotten!
